Uncannily realistic and sexually frank, R. LeBeaux’s new novel, CUTE, is both hilarious and spiritually uplifting. It follows Tim Jacoby from a childhood of sexual abuse and adventure, through an adulthood of self-imposed exile filled with regret and struggle. Redemption never seems to be within reach, until his life is changed dramatically by woman he meets and shocking reunions with two of his former lovers. The ensuing conflicts are nerve-wracking, funny and, eventually, emotionally healing, however, not before Tim undergoes some of the most heart-wrenching self examination and atonement I have ever read in a work of fiction.
